Appearance
Settings → Theme offers Field Green, the new default with paper and forest surfaces and serif headings; Slate, cool blue/teal surfaces and sans-serif headings; and Classic Blue, the familiar navy and blue palette from earlier releases. All three use the same chart colors and status meanings. Choose light, dark, or automatic color mode separately. High contrast preserves its accessibility palette with every theme. Settings search finds “theme”, “appearance”, or “dark”.
Use Display mode beside Simple / Nerd at the top of any screen, or open Settings → Theme. Choices stay in sync with setup and apply immediately.
On an existing installation without an explicit theme choice, an upgrade offers Keep Classic Blue or Use Field Green. Classic Blue stays active until you choose; Decide later dismisses the prompt for this visit. Your display mode is preserved. Previously selected themes are kept, and new installations start with Field Green.

Preferences are stored in this browser, independently of watering settings and server backups. Another browser can make its own choice. Clearing site data resets display mode to Dark and may show the theme choice again on an existing installation. If browser storage is blocked, choices last only for the current visit.
Read chart colors
The key beside a chart names each measurement and its unit. Blue represents watering, teal rain, ochre temperature, green soil moisture, and violet pressure or estimated plant water use (ET), each identified by its own label. Hourly rain bars show probability, not accumulated rain. Irrigation rain bars show amounts; a vertical mark shows the hold threshold and stripes show measured carryover. Rain remains teal before the line; only the amount beyond it is amber. The marker and Threshold met label identify a reached threshold, including an exact match with no excess. The ET balance uses teal toward the budget and green beyond its marker. These are individual inputs; the watering verdict still explains the final decision.
In watering decisions, blue means watering, green means confirmed completion, amber means skipped or paused, and gray means off or unknown. Device health uses green for healthy and red for a fault. The words and reason carry the meaning alongside the color. Radar and UV retain their own labeled scales.
Forecasts and soil projections are estimates. Missing data is not zero. In History, focus a line chart and use Left/Right, Home/End, or a pointer to inspect its values.
